Adults play a role in raising children
ADULTS must not forget that they have a responsibility and role to play in the way children are raised, said MCA central committee member Loh Seng Kok.
“We have to ensure the environment that our children grow in is conducive for their wholesome development,” Loh said during the prize-presentation ceremony in conjunction with the World Children Day Celebration held by the Selangor Deaf Children School in Kelana Jaya recently.
According to Loh,, the world today is getting more complex and competitive, and hence, adults have to ensure the children are instilled with proper values of gratitude and appreciation for one another.
“We also have to let our children dream,” said Loh.
He said children hold the future of the nation and the world.
Meanwhile, in her welcoming address, school principal Sa’adiah Ahmad hoped the government would consider giving special allowance monthly to teachers in the school as they have acquired additional skill to teach the deaf children as required.
She also requested to the management of the building where the school was housed to provide space for physical education and sports.
